Roman Coins

During Roman times, there were no banks. So, whilst this meant that those living in Roman times didn't have to suffer extortionate prices for being sent a letter from a Bank Manager they'd never even spoken to, it did mean that they had to find alternative ways of storing coins.

One such way was to bury the coins. Families, as well as Roman soldiers going into battle, would often hide their family coins and jewellery in such a manner. This is why they are found in Britain and other countries that the Romans invaded.

Within this site, we hope to offer some of these great coins for sale and, in time, build up more in the way of reference, too.

In the meantime, our simple offerings will help kickstart any coin collection and also make great gifts.
